Brentwood is a small affluent enclave bordered by the 405 freeway to the east, Wilshire Boulevard to the south, Pacific Palisades to the west and Mulholland Drive to the north. The area is mostly comprised of homes, but many condo projects have been built between San Vicente and Wilshire Boulevard in the past few years. This part of Brentwood is mainly flat, but a large part is nestled in the hills and canyons. Many of the celebrities that make Brentwood their home live in these hills, north of Sunset. Many small equestrian communities can be found in the canyons (Mandeville and Sullivan Canyons), as well as houses with private horse stables.
San Vicente Boulevard is considered the 'main street' of Brentwood with many businesses and restaurants lining the street. The famed Brentwood Country Mart is found at San Vicente and 26th street on the border of Santa Monica and Brentwood. North of San Vicente on Barrington is the Brentwood Village. Both shopping areas have a small town feel and lend Brentwood the charm that has made it such a sought after place to live.
